Minimalist setups have become all the rage in modern gaming environments.
For many, the subgenre of battle station involves only using the essentials necessary, which may depend entirely upon your preferences as a gamer.
Aside from being a cheap and effective way to develop a setup that looks more “sophisticated”, this bare minimum approach can help achieve clarity during gaming, resulting from a reduction of clutter around you.
So as we take a look at the most popular builds found on Reddit this year; expect to see lots of clean lines and white-open space, to further inspire your own aesthetic minimalism!
What is the best minimalist gaming setup?
12. It doesn’t matter if it’s black or white
Doctor, are you ready? This spotless minimalist setup is practically clean enough to perform surgery on. While it might be too sterile for some peoples tastes, the simplicity is a dream for others.
The creator wanted to construct a bright open space with a high level of organization. To do this, the cable management was a major priority so he ran all the wires inside the walls, and as you can see, none are poking out.
The large glossy desk comes from Ikea and rests freely above the four visible wall mounts. It provides more than enough space for the two Audioengine A2+ speakers, and other wireless peripherals such as the Logitech G613 keyboard and mouse. The Corsair Void Pro on the wall is also completely wireless.
The Fractal Design Define R5 Case has surprising been positioned on the floor.. A surgeon should know better than that!

11. My Minimalist Streaming Setup v2.0
The theme is clean, classic, and simple. This minimalist design proves that you don’t need to have fortunes saved up to create a sleek and stylish setup.
The first thing that grabs your attention in this room is the contrasting color scheme. It has three main colors that separate the walls, flooring, and black on black equipment nicely. This aspect not only helps with the cleanliness, but also makes white logos on the gear prominently stand out.
Only the essentials can be found on the Idasen desk. They include an Alienware 24.5″ monitor, a Yongnuo YN360 light, a Vortex POK3R RGB Keyboard, and a Logitech G Pro Wireless 130 mouse.
The creator has taken full advantage of being able to clamp the Blue Compass mic arm and Logitech BRIO webcam to the desk, so everything is just where he wants it.
This is not empty, just minimalistic 😉

10. I Like Oreos
This setup is perfect for all you Oreo lovers, and just like the famous cookies, everything in this setup is black and white.
It’s great inspiration if you don’t have a lot of space for your equipment. The creator has maximized the use of his small tabletop by keeping things as tidy as possible and it looks entirely appetizing!
On top of the desk is a Vortex Tab 90M keyboard, and the mouse is a white Logitech G305. Both pieces of gear cover a large solar system mouse pad. If you are also a fan of photography you will also adore the vintage camera and film video camera props that are next to the speakers.
The PC itself is powered by an EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, a Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, and 16GB of G.SKILL TridentZ RGB RAM. The desktop tower is held high on the desk to help with the cleanliness. Remember, no eating cookies while gaming!

9. Here’s My Battle Station
This pastel inspired theme best resembles eye candy. The creator wanted to add his unique touch to a white setting and has ultimately succeeded. The place is beautiful and peaceful. Now he can relax and enjoy this heaven of technology.
The eye-catching mousepad from Etsy is one of the first things to grab your attention. It matches with the other pieces of gear such as the yellow GK61 Mechanical keyboard, the Himalayan Salt Lamp, and even the Elgato Stream deck has a custom homemade skin!
On a professional note, the two Viotek monitors are more than enough to provide an excellent view of the game. Just under this is the Lenrue PC Bluetooth Soundbar for extra bass, and the mouse is an ultra-lightweight honeycomb G-Wolves Hati.
The Furby in this setup ties everything together nicely!
Monitor: Viotek GN24CW 24-Inch
Monitor Mount: VIVO Dual LCD
Keyboard: ANNE PRO 2
Mouse: G-Wolves Hati
Mousepad: Iridescent Print
Speaker: LENRUE PC Soundbar
Control pad: Elgato Stream Deck

8. My Minimal Setup
This battle station stands out for its homely and modern appeal. The strong black and white colors grab your attention in an instant, and there is no RGB lighting found in any of the equipment. Instead, the focus is a clean, tidy space with just the necessary gear.
The Audioengine A5+ speakers, Fnatic MiniStreak keyboard, and NZXT H510 case all have a similar contrasting aesthetic. Complimenting these larger items is a gorgeous marble grain mousepad. We particularly like how this camouflages the white Logitech mouse so you can’t even see it on top!
The cleanliness of this room makes it feel organized so you can focus on your game. Despite being in the corner with a relatively low ceiling, there’s still plenty of room for large sweeping mouse movements. That’s especially important for the majority of players.
7. New Wife Setup
Most men quickly find out that they need to tone it back a bit when they move in with a broad, so the creator chose to build a pleasant environment that even his wife could love. The result? A clean and minimal setup that is satisfying for both parties.
The cable management is second to none. I’m sure the majority of gamers would love this level of organization (even if it was forced upon them). A cable sock takes care of the wires from the screens, while the peripherals are neatly zip-tied together and slot through the desk under the mouse mat.
Three monitors have been mounted in the center of the desk. The Acer Predator 34” is perfect for gaming, while the additional two monitors on the side are for streaming and watching movies. A i7-7700k CPU and 1070 GTX GPU means the setup is not lacking in terms of performance.
Although the focus is more on function than looks, with the pictures of the droid and Millennium Falcon space ship, it somehow manages both. Any aspiring Stormtroopers would be happy to call this their home!
6. Just Moved
This powerful minimalist setup comes with a monochromatic twist. The main goal for the creator was to build a practical space where all of the parts could meet in harmony.
You don’t need a lot of equipment to build a battle station like this; the only items found on the forefront of the desk are the Razer peripherals. Then further back are three ASUS ROG Strix monitors that float in the air due to being wall-mounted. A Blue Yeti mic has also been clamped to the side.
Underneath is a Lian Li PC-O11 tempered glass case, which has been lifted a few inches from the ground to prevent dust accumulation. Apart from having to deal with less cleaning, this is a great idea for those who want to save much-needed desk space.
This gamer loves his RGB lighting, and has chosen to finish of the look with a crown of Nanoleaf panels!
5. Decided to add some color to the setup
This clean and minimalist setup just goes to show that RGB isn’t always the best option. Like many of the other setups on this list, It capitalizes on using a contrasting black and white theme, but with an added touch of color for that extra punch.
The aesthetics are the focal point in this setting, in particular, the stylish “architecture” prints being the first thing to grab your attention. These three posters use a washed-out blend of colors that match the classic Ducky One2 Bon Voyage, as well as the DecalGirl skin on the Switch controller.
All of the equipment can be found on top of the 78” Linnmon desk w/ Alex drawers. This includes a fitting Xaomi desk lamp, Logitech G560 speakers, and the desktop PC itself. A monitor mount from VIVO is used to house the dual (240hz) Alienware monitors.
Overall it’s charming to look at and almost appears like a render, you can tell the creator is very skilled at choosing his products!
4. Finished my dorm room setup!
Moving into an empty dorm room can be quite a daunting experience, especially when you come to terms with everything you’ve left behind. However, this student quickly realized that if he was going to get the most out of his study, he would first have to apply his natural talent as an interior designer!
The transformation is astonishing, even more so when you consider that this is usually a freshman’s poorest time of their life. The creators first move was to pack-up the shoddy desk provided, and start everything again from scratch.
To hide the nasty white bricks, a bamboo flooring backboard has been mounted to the wall, forming a rich dark contrast. This has been used to secure the majority of his equipment, including an LG monitor, two Yamaha HS5s speakers, and even a table lamp.
The 6ft KARLBY Countertop desk neatly matches the Walnut veneer of the backboard. If you’re wondering how he achieved this, it has been cut clean into an “L” shape, and then braced together using three metal brackets that are screwed into the undersides.
All in all, dorms have gotten a hell of a lot nicer in the past 20 years!
3. First time builder – Arctic Sunset build
Gazing at this visually stimulating setup could well be better than a real Arctic Sunset.
The creator wanted something different than all the other white-themed battle stations, and spent months searching for the right parts with a similar blend of colors to get it right. If you are a beginner and have a small desk to build your minimalist setup – then take some inspiration from this!
The glass case is a white P3 Thermaltake with RGB lighting. The sexy and slimline design allows your friends to peak in and admire all your gear from afar. Inside is a GeForce RTX 2080 GPU, which has been positioned horizontally on the MSI Titanium MoBo, just above the Corsair RMX power supply.
Monitor: MSI 32″ Full HD
Keyboard: CORSAIR K70 RGB MK
Mouse: Corsair M65 Elite
Mousepad: Razer Goliathus Extended
Case: P3 ThermalTake White
MoBo: MSI X370 XPOWER Titanium
CPU: Amd Ryzen 7 2700x
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB
Cooling: Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM
GPU: GeForce RTX 2080
2. Ｃｌｅａｎ ＆ Ｃｈｉｌｌ Ｗｅｅｋｅｎｄ Ｖｉｂｅｓ
Popcorn walls, a curved ceiling edge, and a radiator that looks like it’s traveled straight from the ’80s.. wow. This curious but cozy room certainly has a lot of standout features!
The creator aimed to modernize this unusual setting that was built in the 1900s. To do this, he focused particularly on the color scheme by working with the original wooden flooring and white wallpaper aesthetic.
The Ikea Karlby kitchen countertop matches the floor to a T, as do the posters, speakers, and the mini NCase M1 with the walls. In addition to these colors, he has also included some black pieces of equipment that help to outline some extra depth.
The small form factor PC is held up by a laptop mount, which is just another factor that makes this room appear even more unconventional, but somehow not out of place.
To top it all off is the illuminating RGB projected from the Nanoleaf and keyboard – for that added touch of Vaporware!
1. New setup, new post.
This Firewatch inspired build appeals to all lovers of warm colors.
There’s nothing overly pretentious about this battle station, which begins with the desk. What’s unusual about this is that the creator combined two sets of Ikea “Alex” drawers with a 150×75 cm Linmon tabletop, rather than buying an actual desk.
He then hand-painted the orange raisers to separate both of the components and lift the height to a more comfortable level. If you’re wondering how these have been attached; they are screwed up from underneath the drawers.
A TV mount from Iiglo is used to hold the Acer Predator X34 horizontal and the ViewSonic monitor vertical at the same time. The Lian li 011 dynamic case presents spectacular viewing from all angles, and allows everyone to admire the RTX 2080 Ti and water cooling system from the side.
The attention to detail is one of the main aspects that makes this minimalist setup a dream come true.
We hope you enjoyed this post on the best minimalist gaming setup:
