15 Best Gaming Setups of 2024 – DIY Builds

The ideal gaming setup can come in many different shapes and sizes.

Much like the mainstream fascination of customizing cars, gamers take massive pride in working on their beloved battle stations, and can’t wait to show off their imaginative designs; to gain feedback and advice on their most recent gear.

While the price may vary, often ranging from budget-friendly to luxury, it’s the originality that makes the top battle stations stand out from others in the crowd!

Below, we will take a look at the “most liked” custom builds found on Reddit this year – to help inspire your own place of paradise..

What is the best gaming setup?

15. I live in a van and this is my battle station!

This is the standard image for anyone who has thought about converting a Van into a battle station. To achieve this organized look, the creator has opted for a bare minimum approach with only the necessary peripherals for playing PC games.

The interior has an incredibly homely vibe, which is partly due to the rustic wood cladding that lines the walls. This is then decorated with a flag of personal postcards near the ceiling, and there’s even a dream catcher found hanging at the back to keep away bad dreams and evil spirits.

One way he could optimize this valuable living space is by swapping-out the tower and changing it to a small form factor PC. Moreover, if the location ever starts to dull, the option is always there to take the whole experience down by the river.

14. Here’s my Battlestation

The theme is white and black with a touch of vintage. The main purpose of the creator was to transform an attic into a clean and comfortable battle station. To do this, he kept it minimalist with no RGB lighting, and to be honest it doesn’t need it.

What catches the attention most about this gaming setup are the lit-up storage shelves. They house some of the greatest consoles of all time including the; N64, PS1, GameCube, SNES, and Xbox One. In a nutshell, it is a true paradise for old-school gamers.

The wall-mounted case is a Thermaltake Core PC3. It is currently one of the most unconventional cases in the market right now for its open-frame panoramic design. This helps to keep all of your components cool and makes modifications effortless.

The setup was built with ease of accessibility and comfort in mind. More proof of this is the recliner chair that you can easily tilt back when gaming.

13. His and Hers Battle Station

Of course, we had to represent all the gamer couples out there, and if you and your loved one and are looking to build a joint setup together then you should take some inspiration from this.

The battle station consists of one large room that has been split it half symmetrically. The pink theme on the left is for the girl, while the blue theme on the right is for the boy. The main idea was to create a place where both sexes could dominate their opponents at the same time.

A cute touch about this setup is that the girls desktop tower is slightly smaller than the guys. You will love The Sonic and Mario block Pixel Pals on the wall, and the beautiful Nano leaf aurora light panels that help to highlight these features even more.

Remember to send a screenshot to your partner to see if they fancy building this creation too!

12. Lock-down Makeover!

What’s not to like about this clean and organized setup? From the subtle geometric walls to the plush swirl carpet, It’s perfect for any gamer to move straight into.

The creator made incremental changes to this habitual space for years to find the pinnacle layout. With just a few alterations to the color scheme, and persistent attention to detail, he’s got it looking just how it should.

Although the room size isn’t exactly the largest, with the Ikea Bekant desk and side cabinet stretched along the wall, it appears bigger than it really is. This is also partly due to the frame-less design of the desk that keeps the carpet visible while providing plenty of legroom to stay comfortable.

The triple monitors are held up by desk mounts, which sit just beneath the wall-mounted TV and speakers. Fortunately, it’s not a standing desk or he might have some problems with that ?!

11. Best of Both Worlds

In terms of creating a great gaming setup, sometimes less is more and this one proves it. It’s named “The best of both worlds” because you can either go for a “white theme”, or you flick the switch and change it into “dark mode”.

The creator wanted a clean, functional space that he could tone down at night to protect his eyes and change the feel of the room completely. The auto-dimming BenQ ScreenBar helps him to minimize screen glare, and keep the keyboard area lit so this goal could become a reality.

Much like the alternative lighting, the “Autonomous” desk brings versatility. It has four programmable height settings, giving you the choice to either sit or stand during your marathon sessions.

This station is ideal for anyone whose lacking space. It certainly gives off close-quarter vibes, similar to the Space X crew cabin!

The room is filled with warmth which derives from some of the materials found on show. The softwood wall panels and Walnut veneered desk present a natural feel; while the tapestry, thick padded chair, and carpet help to soften some of those edges.

The gaming setup consists of three full HD monitors that are held together by a VIVO Black Triple stand. As you can see, the curved 34.1″ Alienware monitor in the center is slightly larger, it then has two smaller flat screen 24” Acer Predators positioned on angles to the side.

It has four monitors that allow the player to get fully immersed in the game and completely forget about the outside world. Surrounding each monitor is a light bar, which not only helps to give the place a warm touch, but further combines with the colors of the PC wallpaper.

The zero-gravity “Conform Air” chair can provide an excellent view from all angles, and stays comfortable for many hours by releasing pressure from the joints. It has been securely fastened on top of a custom-made frame, so unfortunately you can’t just buy it from the shop.

8. My place of Zen

This spacious and modern setting has a slight resemblance to a cyberpunk theme, and uses zones of LED lighting to reflect the dim blue light of the surrounding surfaces. The Witcher screensaver follows the same color scheme to help compliment this style.

You can tell that the creator has put a lot of time into decorating the walls. And although you might not realize it at first, the brick facade is a peel and stick wallpaper. On top of this is the much-loved nano-leaf, and to the left are video game inspired posters designed by Pixelnoise.

The custom-built L-shaped desk is another mighty feature in this room, providing more than enough space for the rest of the gear. The PC setup uses a white Lian Li PC-011 Tempered Glass case, an ASUS PRIME B450m-a Motherboard, and an AMD Ryzen 5 3600x to provide the gaming power.

The dim natural lighting, earthy colors, and indoor Bonsai greenery suits the surrounding to a tee. It’s almost as if the room extends beyond the four walls; when you need to take a breather from the game, simply slide back the large open window to inhale some of that lovely fresh air.

The setup itself isn’t bad either. A high-spec PC and two square ACER monitors in this environment is fitting. Other products that blend in nicely include; a wood veneered “ASKIM” Computer Desk, a Staples “Hyken” Technical Mesh chair, and to wrap it all off – a Foot Switch Floor Lamp.

Good luck with your ping out there, and watch out for those animals!

6. My Wallet and I are Not Talking

We can all agree that this dynamic “ice-inspired-build” bursts with originality.

It would be a pleasure to retreat too at any time of the day, but particularly in the morning. The creator wanted a place where he could combine lights with 3D figures, and it’s safe to say he achieved this with the outcome looking immense.

The wall gives a whole new experience thanks to the Art3d 3D Textured Paneling that has been lit up to create depth. The Hexagonal lights Cololight Pro – Smart LED Lights are made of individual pieces to create the “branch-like” design, and follow the “cool” theme of the room.

The power of the gaming setup comes from the ASUS ROG Maximus XI Code LGA1151 motherboard, an EVGA Geforce RTX 2080 TI graphic card, and an Intel Core i9-9900k CPU to maximize the performance.

The case is the Lian-li PC-011 dynamic, which combines tempered glass with a black frame to add a touch of luxury to this stylish battle station!

The creator wanted to upgrade his streaming area so it was more functional, and focused on the organization by paying special attention to cable management. As you can see, all of the gear looks incredibly tidy and there’s not a thing out of place!

The lighting helps to highlight the flurry of posters that curve around the corner of the room and matches with his outstanding internal RGB equipment. This includes; a Thermaltake view 71 glass snow case, two sticks of corsair vengeance 3200 HMZ RAM, and an Eagletec KG011-RGB keyboard.

Simple doesn’t just mean boring, and the creator decided to add 10 beautiful gaming posters to make his setup look unique. Each picture has a white frame that blends in nicely with the wall, you can even see some Hollow Knight artwork up there.

If you’re wondering why this room looks so sleek, this is down to the black monitor and keyboard forming a strong contrast with the white theme (to help pronounce the look).

The cable management is has been executed perfectly, with the monitor cables in a cable-duct behind the wall, and the keyboard cable going down through the table. The reason you can’t see the hole is because it has been hidden discreetly beneath the large Silent Monsters mousepad.

The Den is a trapezoid attic getaway that’s brimming with ambiance. First impressions make it appear a bit like a recording studio, but as you dive a bit deeper into the room and look at the accessories you begin to realize just how cozy it is.

The large BenQ movie projector on the wall, and love sac at the back would make for blissful times with a partner. Once you’ve finished your gaming on the PC, simply knockback on the couch and relax with a cold one, however you might struggle to find the mini-fridge!

The gaming station comprises of two curved monitors, an Acer Predator 34” and a 27” full HD AOC. Under the desk is where the magic happens, which begins with an MD Ryzen 7 2700 Processor tucked nicely inside a Thermaltake V200 Tempered Glass RGB Edition case.

The creator wanted to achieve a relaxing battle station with modern elements, and at the same time add his personal touch. To do this, he took full advantage of the slanted wall by adding pictures of maps, and finding the biggest overhanging desk imaginable!

The setup is powered by an EVA 850 G2 PSU power supply and a MSI GTX 1080ti graphic card. The audio performance is top-notch due to the Ascend acoustics Sierra 2 speakers. The main display is a whopping 49″ Samsung QLED Gaming Monitor.

The cable management from the monitor is well organized, with the cables going into the wall, then down to the wooden baseboard. The Fejka Japanese plants also help to make the place more attractive. There are lots of unique touches that help to brighten up this clean and stylish design.
