11 Best Earbuds for the Nintendo Switch – 2024

If you’re in search of some new earbuds for the Nintendo Switch then you’ve come to the right place.

A top pair of gaming earbuds should provide comfort, sound quality, and have additional features such as intuitive controls/ a decent enough mic, etc…

Moreover, to make the most of the Switch’s newly opened Bluetooth functionality, low-latency connections (on the latest True Wireless models) are also a must.

In this post, we will cover the best gaming earbuds for the Switch right now.

What are the best earbuds for the Nintendo Switch?

11. KLIM Fusion Earbuds

Weight: 0.7 oz
Battery life: –

Klim Fusion are a stylish pair of wired earbuds that come in several slick colors. They feature memory foam tips on each of the buds, as well as an integrated microphone on the controls. The foam tips guarantee a comfortable fit in any ear-canal shape while ensuring top noise isolation.

Despite only having 8mm drivers, the Fusions produce a decent soundstage with an emphasis on low-frequency sounds. Surprisingly, the audio level can turn up quite loud with no muffling or buzzing. Increasing the volume can be done by adjusting the slider on the controls.

The mics audio quality is what you would expect from a pair of budget earbuds. In particular, it’s a bit overly sensitive and susceptible to picking up sounds in the other room. Therefore, if you’re after a mic that you can use for in-game communication, we don’t recommend this option.

On the plus side, the build is nice and durable. Klim promise that 98.5% still work after 6 months and 97% after a whole year. They even back this up with a 5-year warranty for a zero-risk purchase. All in all, if simplicity is your goal, then you might fancy these earbuds for the Nintendo Switch.

Pros
  • Decent sound quality
  • Good audio levels
  • Comfortable foam ear tips
  • Deep bass
  • Budget price
Cons
  • Volume toggle prone to catching
  • Mic location

10, JBL Quantum 50

Weight: 0.76 oz
Battery life: –

The JBL Quantum 50 are a pair of wired in-ear earphones built primarily for mobile gaming. Featuring 8.6mm drivers powered by JBL QuantumSOUND signature technology, you’ll be able to hear your enemies (and friends) loud and clear from all directions.

As you might expect from JBL, the build quality is good – even for the price. The buds and volume controller use a durable polymer, and the braided cable protect it from wear and tear. In terms of comfort, the silicone ear tips are ultra-soft and comfortable for extended sessions.

Thanks to the JBLs QuantumSOUND, the audio quality is high across the board. QuantumSOUND produces crisp, directional sound, which is on point for gaming. Unfortunately, though, the buds don’t offer much sound isolation. Therefore, the max volume could be slightly louder.

To adjust the volume, the Quantum 50 features an inline controller with an integrated volume slider and a mic mute button. We found that the controls are intuitive to use and function just as they should. As for the microphone, this is okay but nothing spectacular.

Pros
  • Good Sound
  • Affordable Price
  • Comfortable
  • Good fit
Cons
  • Mic quality
  • Low bass

9. Turtle Beach Battle Buds

Weight: 12.8 oz
Battery life: –

Turtle Beach have always had a great reputation for making budget gaming headsets, and the Battle Buds follow that trend. Like a shrunken down version of their full-size headsets; the sound quality is clean, the comfort is high, and the attachable boom mic makes it easy to communicate with your friends.

To achieve such a low price point, Turtle Beach have had to cut some costs in the build quality. For instance, the earphone housings are only cheap plastic, and the cord is strikingly thin. If you’re not very good at looking after things, longevity might be a bit of a concern with this option.

While the materials may have been cut to lower the price, the engineering that it went into the driver and mic technology certainly hasn’t. The 10mm speakers produce perfect highs, lows, and have just the right amount of bass for gamers. The highlight though has to be that boom mic, which is top-notch.

Another big plus is that Turtle Beach include six varying-sized ear tips so that you can get these earbuds to fit exactly the way you want. Three of the six are your typical semi-spherical earbud shape, while the other three are slightly larger and feature grippy sections. This ensures that they won’t fall out.

Although the build quality is sort of lacking, there’s a lot to like about these earbuds for the Nintendo Switch. In particular, the affordable price tag and attachable boom mic is what sets them apart.

Pros
  • Great sound
  • Good bass for earbuds
  • Mic quality is fantastic
  • Ability to adjust in-ear sizes
  • Hooks/ rests in ear
Cons
  • Cheap plastic build
  • Cord could be longer

8. Sennheiser CX 300S

Weight: 0.42 oz
Battery life: –

While Sennheiser don’t specifically develop their earbuds for gaming, the overall performance of the CX 300S cannot be ignored. What you’re getting is precise German engineering that ensures amazingly detailed audio, with each frequency accounted for.

Straight away, you will appreciate the high build quality of this unit. The cables are sturdy and don’t tangle. Moreover, the buds feel solid in your hand. At 0.42 ounces, they do have a little bit of weight to them. That’s thanks to the superior materials, which take them a step above the budget options.

It’s the precise German engineering that makes the CX 300S sound so great. Clear highs, mids, and a bit of extra bass in the background create a dynamic sound field for all games. Although the bass response is not massively punchy, it’s clean and the level of sound detail is really impressive.

As for the microphone, this is a little weak but not terrible. Comms are good enough for casual gameplay but nothing competitive. To increase the comfort of the earbuds themselves, gamers get four different-sized ear tips. Apart from that, a cool leather pouch comes with the deal.

Pros
  • Great build quality
  • Lightweight and comfortable
  • Balanced audio
  • Four extra ear tips
Cons
  • Bass is a bit week
  • Microphone

7. HyperX Cloud Earbuds

Weight: 0.67 oz
Battery life: –

The HyperX Cloud Switch earbuds look like they could have been made by the folks at Nintendo themselves. They have a playful and clean look that matches nicely with your console (regardless of the colorway). Moreover, the wires are tangle-free and convenient to handle/ wear.

As for the build, the materials of these earphones are really solid and durable. The silicone ear tips feature a patented design that “stick” to the inside of your ear canal without becoming uncomfortable. It also significantly helps insulate sound to improve the audio quality, too.

Speaking of audio quality, these earbuds sound a lot “bigger” than they actually are. The moment that you plug them in, immersive gameplay audio with plenty of detail fills your ears. Considering the affordable price, they do a great job at unlocking the full Nintendo soundstage.

Three different sizes of silicone ear tips (all included) can be swapped out to get the custom fit gamers are after. Besides the extra ear tips, a nice little bonus is that the deal includes a portable carry case. That’s exactly what’s needed for taking the Switch on the go when in handheld mode.

Unfortunately, the microphone is only so-so, though, but it’s still good enough for game chat. If you’re looking for a similar set of wired earphones with a better mic, then you’d better check out the next option on our list.

Pros
  • Great portability
  • Clear sound quality
  • Tangle-free cable
  • Comfortable and customizable
  • Free travel pouch
Cons
  • Cheap packaging
  • Plastic build
  • Sensitive mic

6. Razer Hammerhead Duo

Weight: 0.59 oz
Battery life: –

Razer have been responsible for some of the best PC peripherals on the market for a while now, but with these Nintendo Switch earbuds, they jump into the console world. Sleek and modern, the Hammerhead Duo, flaunt a jet black appearance with their signature logo on the back of the bud.

Built from premium silicone, synthetics, and copper materials, these earphones offer fantastic quality. The braided cables and aluminum frame make sure that they outlast the competition. Moreover, the design is not only durable but also very lightweight.

Equipped with dual audio drivers in each of the buds, the Hammerhead Duo produce rich, theater-like sound. It’s a dynamic sound stage that keeps audio clear of pops and interference. Gamers will be able to easily pick up on nuance and subtle sounds they might have missed with other buds.

Another big plus is that the package includes three different-sized pairs of silicone ear cups so you can find optimal comfort during those marathon gaming sessions. Besides guaranteeing comfort the silicone ear cups help to lock in and insulate the sound coming out of the earbuds themselves.

Lastly, the convenient inline mic controls include a built-in microphone and a physical mute switch for in-game chat. As for the microphone, this works fine and is actually pretty good. It does a great job of reducing background noise (such as reverb) from your desktop, music, or game sounds.

Pros
  • Sound quality
  • Aluminum frame
  • Control buttons are tactile & responsive.
  • Sleek, lightweight design
Cons
  • No carrying case
  • Bass is a bit mellow

5. Samsung Galaxy Buds Live True

Weight: 0.2 oz (per bud)
Battery life: 8 hours; 29 hours (with case)

Gamers seeking earbuds that look like AirPods – but without the AirPods price tag – will love these Samsung options. Small, compact, and truly wireless, they work just as well with the Switch as they do with any other Bluetooth device. It’s easy to pair them to a phone or a gaming console.

If you are familiar with Samsung earbuds, then you will know that there are a few different Galaxy Bud versions; with the most popular two being the Lives and the Pro. Unlike the Buds Pro that have great passive isolation, the Lives have an open design that allows outside noise in.

While this does inhibit their ability to perform in places with a lot of background noise, it helps them produce sound that is more natural during use in quiet locations. As a result, this makes them the superior option for communicating with other players at home, e.g. in your bedroom/ game room.

In terms of the design, the Buds Live have a comfortable bean-ish silhouette that won’t fall out of your ear. They’re well made, light but not too “floaty”. On each bud is a single touch-sensitive button. This can perform multiple functions (such as mute, etc.) depending on the number of presses.

Each earbud is equipped with an AKG-tuned 12mm driver at the heartbeat of the sound system. Gamers will get full stereo sound from this tiny form factor, making games feel a lot more immersive. There are no tinny or thin-sounding issues with these earphone options.

The strong Bluetooth 5.0 connection is another big plus. From a named brand, this is probably one of the most stable and far-reaching we’ve found. Moreover, the remarkably low audio/ video latency makes them ideal for casual gaming on a mobile or the Nintendo Switch.

Pros
  • Unique, eye-catching design
  • Comfortable ergonomic fit
  • Compact charging case with wireless charging
  • Open sound with good bass and detail
  • Good noise reduction when making calls
Cons
  • Mild Noise cancelling
  • Only IPX2 water-resistance
  • Open design lets in some ambient sound

4. EPOS GTW 270 Hybrid

Weight: 2.15 oz
Battery life: 5 hours; 24 hours (with case)

The GTW 270 Hybrid wireless earbuds provide no-compromise audio for gamers on the go. To achieve this, they incorporate multiple connection options. This includes the ability to pair through Bluetooth 5.1, as well as over aptX LL protocol via a USB-C dongle.

Compared to other wireless earbuds, the low latency aptX codec is what makes the GTW 270 stand out from the crowd. By compressing and decompressing the audio, it significantly lowers the streaming latency. As a result, you can expect lag-free playback with an almost nonexistent delay.

Unfortunately, connecting by aptX does come at one big drawback. Due to only supporting a single playback channel, the 270s dual-mic cannot work at the same time as its audio. Therefore, you won’t be able to communicate with your teammates online when you pair the earbuds this way.

Nevertheless, these earbuds are still a great choice for single-player gameplay on the Nintendo Switch. The closed-back, in-ear design feels supremely comfortable and provides excellent sound isolation. Moreover, the sound they produce is fantastic with deep powerful bass, natural mids, and sparkling highs.

Finally, a nice little bonus is that the package includes a portable aluminum charge case. This extends the wireless listening time from five hours up to twenty hours on a full charge. Overall, the GTW 270 Hybrid is great for what it does, but it’s hard to ignore the mic functionality for multiplayer gaming.

Pros
  • USB-C dongle allows for low-latency audio
  • Impressive build quality
  • Swappable silicone tips
  • Compatible with multiple devices
Cons
  • Mic can’t operate when connected via aptX
  • Lacking features

3. Apple AirPods Pro

Weight: 0.2 oz (per bud)
Battery life: 4.5 hours; 24 hours (with case)

The Pro version of the AirPods are some of the most desirable Bluetooth earbuds on the planet. Sleek, compact, and unbelievably comfortable, it’s easy to see how they’ve gained their reputation. They’re also compatible with pretty much any device imaginable including the Nintendo Switch!

If there’s one thing that Apple nails every time with their products, it’s the ergonomic design. These earphones fit perfectly, with just the right amount of balance to keep them locked in place. Super light and very polished, they almost disappear when worn for extended periods.

Compared to dedicated gaming earbuds, the sound quality the AirPods produce for gameplay isn’t quite as impressive but it’s not bad. Although they produce clear mids and solid highs, the amount of bass is a little lackluster. Games just don’t have that same kind of “punch” you might hope for.

On the plus side, they have some cool ANC features. Much like other True wireless earbuds, AirPods Pro let outside sound in for a more natural feel when you’re talking to people nearby. Furthermore, the mic is crystal clear and up there with the best we have found on a pair of earbuds.

Finally, the package comes with all the essentials. This includes the charging case (works with a USB cable and wirelessly), three sizes of tapered silicone tips, and directions for getting up and running. To sum up, these earbuds are some of the best for general use as well as for the Nintendo Switch.

Pros
  • Modern, functional design
  • Exceptionally comfortable
  • Strong noise-cancelling
  • Balanced, easy-going sound
  • Wireless charging
Cons
  • No companion app
  • Battery life could be longer
  • Not designed for gaming

2. Jabra Elite 85t True Wireless

Weight: 0.21 oz (per bud)
Battery life: 5.5 hours; 25 hours (with case)

The Jabra Elite 85t is a premium pair of true wireless earbuds. They distinguish themselves from the competition with their ergonomic design, active noise canceling (ANC), and grade-A microphone technology. Although they’re not specific to gaming, they deserve a place on our list.

With a choice of three oval silicon ear-gel tips (S, M, L); the ergonomic in-ear design of the Elite 85t is incredibly comfortable. They fit securely, and when compared to other True Wireless earbuds are quite small and light. This makes them ideal for those who love to get active during their gameplay.

Unlike the 75t that have a closed design, the Elite 85t goes for a semi-open vented design. This helps to release some pressure in your ear and allow more ambient noise when ANC is on. While it is an overall benefit, unfortunately, it does slightly reduce the noise cancellation abilities.

Advanced ANC is one of the biggest features of the Elite 85t. By adjusting sliders on the native app, it’s possible to control how much background noise you let in and how much you let out. As a result, you’ll be able to quickly adjust the level of “hear-through” for a variety of different situations.

With ANC on, these earbuds last about 5.5 hours, or up to 25 with a fully charged case. For maximum security, the powerful magnetic case snaps these earbud headphones firmly in place. We also like that the form of the case is quite petite and slim to slot into your pocket.

Finally, the sound quality is just as you would expect for a pair of earbuds at the price point. During testing, we found them to be clear, natural, and have a decent amount of bass. We particularly like that the Sound+ app has an EQ slider so you can adjust the frequency bands precisely.

All in all, there’s no going wrong with the Jabra Elite 85t. These earbuds would be especially awesome for fitness games on the Nintendo Switch.

Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Adjustable active noise cancellation
  • Wireless and USB-C charging
  • Six Integrated mics
Cons
  • A bit bulkier than the 75t
  • Fit isn’t perfect
  • Rather pricey

1. Razer Hammerhead True Wireless Pro

Weight: 0.18 oz
Battery life: 4.5 hours; 20 hours (with case)

The Razer Hammerhead True Wireless Pro combines sleek looks with crisp and responsive sound. They boast a gaming mode with just 60ms of latency, as well as ten-millimeter driver technology. Other standout features include active noise cancellation (ANC) and THX Spatial Audio.

In terms of appearance, the jet black color makes them appear visually quite discreet, particularly with the low-profile wireless design. Essentially, you’re getting a pair of stealthy Apple Airpods, but with custom-tuned drivers that are specifically optimized for gaming.

Much like the Apple Airpods, the True Wireless Pro come with a built-in mic and a charging case to keep the earbuds full of power. With its case, the Hammerhead True Pro can last up to twenty hours at a time or four hours plus (without it) on a full charge.

Like most earwear, comfort is especially important for long hours of gaming. Fortunately, the True Pro Wireless include seven different-sized sets of silicone tips that have a secure, in-ear fit. Due to this, you won’t ever have to worry about them falling out when it really matters the most.

As for the sound quality, the True Wireless Pro offer fantastic bass and clarity. The bass is abundant, but not muddy in any way and highs are natural, with no tininess to speak of. By turning on THX or fine-tuning the equalizers, enhancing the cinematic audio is a breeze using the native app.

Overall, if you’re searching for a solid, functional pair of wireless earbuds, you will be very satisfied with this product. Not only do they look and sound great, but they also feel very lightweight in your ear.

Pros
  • Sound quality
  • Noise-canceling
  • Low latency for Gaming
  • Reliable Bluetooth 5.1
  • Assortment of ear tips
Cons
  • No fast charging
  • Microphone quality
  • AAC and SBC only, no aptX
